The rain is having a day off today, after its vengeful return yesterday. This is Cirencester Parish Church enjoying the warm sunshine. The talk in town was all about the floods with many people coming in from the East to buy water as their local pumping stations were either flooded or had no electricity.
You also get a better standard of eavesdropping in Cirencester.
"Saffron was baptised in the bath after their son went to a Catholic school in France. She had to be, you know, as her first husband wouldn't have allowed anything like that. Do you remember the buzz bombs? ...."

The rain caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to BSS House on the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate. Parts of the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Centre were forced to close along with shops on the Orbital Retail park. ..."
Well, you have to watch something when the car has broken down and you are waiting to see the doctor (minor but irritating stuff), so here we are stuck in Plympton, with no car, on a most beautiful day so why not watch the ladies bowls tournament - so sedate. PS. The Sir Joshua Reynolds serves Otter Ale as well. What a bonus!
It seems that we need warning about warnings now. From todays Telegraph article about 'Rogue petrol'.
"A number of motorists reported that their engine's warning light had come on without warning."
(Despite all that we got back to Newport News to be greeted by Dick who then ran us home. With milk in the fridge already, a quick cup of tea and so to bed. it's good to be back. What good friends they are)
